Mr. Chaib Receives the Minister of State for Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Uganda

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, received today at the Ministry’s headquarters the Minister of State for Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Uganda, Mr. Herona Kasolo, who is on a working visit to Algeria from August 26 to 31, 2026.

This meeting provided an excellent opportunity to reaffirm the deep historical ties between the two brotherly countries and to highlight the vital importance of strengthening these ties and taking them to new heights, in line with the visionary approach of the leaders of both nations.

In this context, both sides commended the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation across various fields, stressing the need to give it new impetus, particularly in the areas of economic, commercial, and agricultural exchanges.

The two sides also reviewed the progress in implementing the programs and projects agreed upon during the state visit by the President of the Republic of Uganda to Algeria in March 2023, at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, while emphasizing the importance of activating bilateral cooperation mechanisms to ensure the achievement of the set objectives.

In conclusion, both sides commended the shared vision and alignment of their positions on all regional and international issues of mutual interest that were addressed during this meeting.
