At the behest of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, arrived this evening in Jeddah, in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to participate in the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), scheduled to be held on August 27.

The session is expected to see the election of a new Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to succeed the current Secretary-General, Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha.

The session will also be devoted to discussing the serious and rapidly evolving developments in the Palestinian cause, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression and the escalating violations committed against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif.

On the sidelines of his participation in the session, the Minister of State will hold a number of bilateral meetings and discussions with his counterparts from participating member states, as well as meetings with OIC officials.
