The Embassy commemorates the 63rd Anniversary of National Immigration Day
The Embassy of Algeria in Brasilia commemorated the "National Day of Migration", coinciding with the sixty-third anniversary of the massacres of October 17, 1961, under the slogan "The pride of belonging... and the march of loyalty."
The ceremony opened with the raising of the flag and listening to the national anthem,
After reading Al-Fatihah and paying tribute to the souls of our righteous martyrs, Ambassador Abdelaziz Ben Ali Cherif recalled the importance of commemorating October 17, 1961 and the heroic epic fought by the mujahideen and militants at home and in the diaspora, and transferring the revolution to the home of the brutal colonizer .
In his intervention, the Ambassador focused on the role played by the Algerian community abroad, especially in France, to support the revolution despite the killing, repression and abuse endured at the hands of the colonizer and his executioners, especially on the evening of October 17, 1961, where men, women, the elderly and children who went out to the streets of Paris were subjected to denounce discriminatory and racist treatment and the curfew imposed on them with unprecedented repression. Hundreds of martyrs died, most of whom drowned in the Seine River, where they were thrown, without any scruples and in cold blood by those who call themselves the French security forces .
Long live Algeria - Glory and eternity to our righteous martyrs
