Celebrating the International Day of the Arabic Language (The language of Al-Dhad)
Algeria celebrates the International Day of the Arabic Language on the eighteenth of December of each year for being a national language among the most widespread languages in the world, where it is spoken by more than one and a half billion people, as well as it is one of the richest languages in its vocabulary because it is above all the language of the Holy Qur'an, science and a means ofFor expression, education and cognitive attainment.
In recognition of the importance of this language, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted on December 18, 1973 a historic decision to declare the Arabic language as the sixth official language of the Organization and to adopt this date to be an international day for the Arabic language, celebrated by all Arabic-speaking countries this year under the slogan "The Arabic Language and Intelligence".Aware: Fostering innovation while preserving cultural heritage."
In 1991, Algeria promulgated a law onthe universalization of the use of the Arabic language in public administrations, bodies, institutions and associations, and established the Higher Council for the Arabic Language in 1996 with a view to contributing to the universalization of the use of the Arabic language in all sectors.
The Embassy of Algeria in Brazil takes this opportunity to express its sincere congratulations to all Arabic-speaking peoples and to recall its conviction that the most effective means of strengthening this language lies in its continuous openness to all contemporary languages and technologies.
