Participation of Algeria in the 2nd Brazil-Africa Dialogue on Food Security, the Fight Against Hunger, and Rural Development

The Ambassador of Algeria to Brazil, H.E. Mr. Abdelaziz Benali Chérif, represented Algeria at the 2nd edition of the Brazil-Africa Dialogue on Food Security, the Fight Against Hunger, and Rural Development, which took place in Brazil from May 19 to 23, 2025.

The Dialogue was also attended by representatives from forty-five (45) African countries, the African Union (AU), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and numerous other multilateral organisations.

The Dialogue had been concluded with the adoption of a Final Declaration, focusing on the importance of family farming in promoting food security and sovereignty, and in strengthening resilience to climate change; as well as on the essential role of women, young people, and traditional communities in sustainable food systems; and on the strategic value of South-South and trilateral cooperation, based on solidarity, mutual respect and the exchange of successful experiences.
